Before you start

Get the pool ready, then follow the steps.

These guides are written for everyday pool owners. Use the steps as a practical starting point, then test your water and adjust based on your own pool size, equipment, and condition.

Best for Green, cloudy, or problem water
Main goal Reset and clear the pool
Clean-up Vacuum, filter, test, balance
Still needed Chlorine and normal maintenance
01

Step 1

Prepare the pool before dosing.

Remove leaves and large debris first. Dazzle works best when the pool is physically cleaned enough for treatment and circulation to do their job.

Brush the walls, floor, steps, and problem areas so algae and fine particles are moved into the water where treatment can reach them.

  • Empty skimmer and pump baskets.
  • Clean or backwash the filter if flow is poor.
  • Top up the pool if the water level is low.
  • Run the pump so the water is moving.
02

Step 2

Check the basics before you start.

A quick water test helps you avoid fighting the wrong problem. pH, chlorine, alkalinity, stabiliser, and phosphates can all affect how quickly the pool recovers.

If the pool is very green, expect high chlorine demand. Dazzle can support the clean-up, but sanitising power still matters.

  • Correct pH if it is far outside range.
  • Check chlorine and be ready to maintain it.
  • Watch high CYA because it can reduce chlorine effectiveness.
03

Step 3

Dose Dazzle for the pool size and condition.

Use the recommended dose for your pool volume. If the pool is badly affected, follow the label directions and avoid guessing based on appearance alone.

Add Dazzle as directed and keep the water circulating so the product can move through the pool.

  • Measure the pool volume if you are unsure.
  • Use the dosing calculator for guidance.
  • Do not mix products in a bucket unless the label specifically says to.
04

Step 4

Let Dazzle circulate, bind, and settle.

Dazzle helps the pool reset through multiple actions. Fine particles can bind together, algae pressure can be reduced, and chlorine can work more efficiently when the water is managed properly.

Cloudy or dirty pools may look worse before they look better as particles move, clump, and settle.

  • Keep the pump running as directed.
  • Brush again if algae is clinging to surfaces.
  • Give heavy debris time to settle before vacuuming.
05

Step 5

Vacuum, filter, and remove settled debris.

Once debris has settled, clean-up is important. Vacuum carefully, clean the filter, and remove as much waste from the pool as possible.

After the pool clears, top up water if needed, then retest and balance before swimming.

  • Vacuum to waste if your system allows and debris is heavy.
  • Backwash or clean the filter after vacuuming.
  • Test chlorine and pH again before use.

Pro tips

Small checks that make a big difference.

Do not skip brushing

Brushing exposes algae and dirt so treatment can reach more of the problem.

Watch high CYA

High stabiliser can make chlorine feel weak even when a test shows chlorine is present.

Clean the filter

A dirty filter can slow recovery and make cloudy water linger longer than it should.
